The atmospheric Mill and Dry at Geevor Tin Mine, Pendeen will be providing the backdrop for two folk choirs who will be making a special visit on Thursday 14th October 2010.

As part of the Cornish inter-celtic folk festival held in Perranporth, the Perraners from Perranporth will be hosting the Stromabank Pub Choir from Hoy on Orkney and will be singing in a variety of places around Cornwall Whilst the latter is mostly used to singing in the pub, the setting of Geevor's Mill and Dry will certainly offer both the performer and audience something special. Once housing deafening machinery and noisy camaraderie, the Mill and Dry are apt locations for choir song to fill the eerie silence of these buildings The choirs will be singing a selection of Cornish and Orkney folk songs including 'Camborne Hill', 'Trelawney'and 'The Cornish Lads'. Written by Roger Bryant when Geevor Tin Mine closed, The Cornish Lads is a favourite of the Perraners The choirs will be performing between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday 14th October 2010. Admission is free with museum entry.
