The
Museum, currently
housed in the old Mine offices, contains a fascinating collection
of mining artefacts and minerals. Video presentations help to
tell the Geevor story.
The
wide range of Outbuildings
including the Winder House and the Compressor House contain
the huge original machinery of the mine. Don't miss the Dry,
where the miners changed and showered: preserved in its original
condition; it has a powerful and evocative atmosphere.
The
Mill is a vast
complex of buildings and machinery used to process the ore from
far below the ground into valuable tin concentrate.
The
Café,
imaginatively converted from the old Mine Stores, offers the
best view in Cornwall and good home cooking - including the
famous Geevor pasties.
The
Shop carries
a range of giftware, books and souvenirs with an emphasis on
mining-related and local items.
Special Exhibitions
are held regularly. Our current exhibition showcases the work
of the Geevor Oral History Project and tells stories of the
people who lived and worked in Pendeen.
The
Underground Tour
visits Wheal Mexico, a small mine typical of the late 18th and
early 19th centuries. A guide recreates the life and work of
Cornish miners from the past.
